This group has deeply weighted borders, atmospherics in cloud and shadow, ancient imagery and runic calligraphy.  The long kimono top left is painted on sand washed silk charmeuse.  It has a subtle sheen and a buttery texture.  Deep black borders along the sides sculpt and lengthen the silhouette.The long poncho at bottom left is painted on sueded silk crepe de chine.  It has an amazing drape.  The collar is cut on the bias and has an exquisite roll.  It is weighted with small silver Zuni heart line bears and squash blossom beads.  This piece can be worn asymmetrically to the side or back wards and will look completely different every time!  It can be dressed up or down, worn with a sweater  or turtleneck in cold weather or a cami or tee in the heat.
     The short poncho at top right is also painted on sueded silk crepe de chine.  This silk has a velvet like feel and exquisite drape.  The short poncho curves along the right arm fitting closely while the drape is carried by the left arm.  The collar has three layers of bias silk that gives it a soft roll framing the face and emphasizing the shoulder line.  It is weighted with small sliver Zuni heart line bears and squash blossom beads that help to control the bias drape.
     Each piece can be customized for size, height and color.  They are amazing interpreted in the ocean colors: mermaid blues, greens violets and blue-violets with red violet or magenta ribbons painted around the borders.  The cool earth colors are also wonderful: Taupe, rose brown, madder reds,  plums, burgundy and pine green.
